Avocado Rose On Toast Recipe

avocado rose on toast recipe
One of the most popular and healthy dishes this year has to be avocado on toast. We have created our own twist on the classic recipe and have added the freshness of lime and chilli to give it a real kick. The elegant inclusion of the avocado rose makes it look 'michelin star' for your dinner guests.

Here is the delicious and easy to follow recipe for avocado rose on toast. Enjoy!

  • 1 ripe and firm medium avocado
  • 2 slices of quality bread (we love organic rye or spelt bread)
  • 1/2 fresh chilli (dried chilli flakes are also good)
  • Fresh lime (and lemon if you like)
  • Sea salt
  • Quality extra virgin olive oil (optional)
  • Handful of green peas or asparagus

  1. Toast the bread.
  2. Create the avocado rose. Gently cut the avocado in half and peel off the delicate skin. Lay one half of the avocado, cut side down, and slice the avocado thinly. It's important that the slices are quite thin so that they're easier to shape. Fan out the slices to form a long line with the slices overlapping each other. It's easier if you remove the small slices from the ends because they are difficult to shape. Then starting from one end, gently curl the avocado slices towards the centre. Continue curling the avocado slices until you get a rose.
  3. Place the rose on the toast
  4. Sprinkle with the chilli, a squeeze of lime, a pinch of sea salt and a tiny drizzle of olive oil (if using).
  5. Add extras such as raw green beans or asparagus to be super healthy!
